COCKER ALBUM! On Tuesday, Joe Cocker released his 21st album Hard Knocks. Cocker says the album has a pop/rock sound, something that he hasn't been into for quite some time, but he'll still perform it in his trademark spastic style! ABBA ALBUM! They're ready to reissue their 1981 final album The Visitors, which will include a previously unreleased track which was a shelved demo that didn't make it onto the album the first time around. The April release also includes a DVD featuring rare concert footage. Get the details.

AND SPEAKING OF "AT LAST"...Etta James, the R&B artist probably best known for her 1961 hit "At Last", has died from complications of leukemia. She was 73. Get the obit.


AND ANOTHER DEATH! Johnny Otis, the man known as "the godfather of R&B" has also died. He was best known for the 1958 top 10 hit "Willie And The Hand Jive. Otis passed away on Tuesday at the age of 90. Get the obit.

McCARTNEY TO PLAY AT GRAMMYS! He's just been added to the list of performers at next month's 54th annual Grammy Awards on February 12th. McCartney will also be honored as the 2012 Musicares Person of the Year on February 10th. Meanwhile, Sir Paul is reportedly also in secret talks to perform at the summer Olympics. LOCKLEAR RELEASED! Actress Heather Locklear was released from a California hospital Friday after binging on prescription pills and alcohol. YARDBIRDS TOUR! From the "I Didn't even know they were still around" file, The Yardbirds will kick off a North American tour February 1st in Buffalo, New York. Today is The Great American Smoke Out. I tried to quit number of years ago but was unsuccessful. I later and managed to quit cold turkey in 1993, on you guessed it, Christmas Day, and I've been smoke free ever since. It's also Electric Greeting Card Day, Homemade Bread Day, Take A Hike Day and World Peace Day.

PAUL SIMON CONCERT! Paul Simon will be the subject of an upcoming PBS television concert special. Paul Simon: Live at Webster Hall New York captures the last concert of his recent two-month U.S. tour. The special airs December 3rd. Get the lowdown.
